The Battle to Cover My Behind

Towards the beginning of my three month internship at TV Guide Magazine, I was given a special project to work on in addition to my day to day photo request fulfillment tasks. Starting in August, the magazine would begin featuring a new photo driven column focusing on television history titled Rerun. That summer I went through a large portion of the magazine's archives, scanning potential photos. I worked with a researcher to compile a list of weekly events in TV history, and used this list as a basis for searching wire services, photo agencies and online image collections. By the end of the internship, and subsequently the first publication of Rerun, I had created a research workflow guide for future photo editors working on the column.
